This is another of the cards I designed for stamp class this month.
It is a variation on a card I made previously in reds and browns. I thought the Pool Party and Basic Gray combination made this a birthday card that could be for either a guy or a girl. It isn't too frou frou or too masculine, just a good balance. I really liked the design when I was playing with the card kits a few weeks ago. Since I had gotten comments on the previous version I thought I could recreate something similar in different colors.
I also used this one as a swap at the St. Louis Regionals last weekend. It is a fairly simple card to put together, even though it is heavy on the embossing!
Stampin' Up! Supplies:
- Stamps: Wishes Your Way (w: 129153, c: 129156)
- Paper: Naturals White, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Pool Party, Real Red
- Ink: Pool Party
- Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335), Woodgrain Embossing Folder (127821), Chevron Embossing Folder (127749), 1 3/4" Circle Punch (119850), Cupcake Builder Punch (121807), Ticket Duo Punch (126883), Decorative Label Punch (120907), Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon (122975), Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (125585)
The bottom of the cupcake was embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder to give it the ruffled, cupcake liner look.
Don't be afraid to add a pop of color to your projects. The Real Red cherry with Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details adds visual interest to an otherwise soft color scheme.
Thanks for letting me share!
